Eight suspects arrested in connection with a police raid on a cocaine lab in northeast Friesland will remain in custody for at least fourteen more days, according to Omrop Fryslân. The police dismantled a cocaine processing facility in a former dairy factory last Tuesday.
Simultaneous raids were conducted at warehouses and homes elsewhere in the Netherlands and in Belgium, resulting in eight arrests, including three Colombians. Since October, the police suspected these individuals were part of a group involved in large-scale cocaine production and trade of ketamine and BMK, a banned substance used in methamphetamine production.
The old dairy factory contained 1.7 kilos of processed cocaine and 360 kilos of material with concealed cocaine. Six suspects were caught in the act.
Specialized cleaning companies carefully removed the drugs and chemicals. Additionally, 250 kilos of ketamine were found in a separate raid in The Hague.
Several homes and a garage were searched across various locations in the Netherlands and Belgium. The gang is also linked to an earlier seizure of 400 kilos of ketamine and 1800 kilos of BMK from Rijswijk and Zoetermeer.
All confiscated drugs were destroyed.
