Dutch teenager dies in accident on German highway

A 19-year-old Dutch man lost his life in an accident on the A30 highway near Isterberg, Germany, just across the border from Enschede. The accident happened overnight from Saturday to Sunday.

According to a police spokesperson, the victim was from Vriezenveen, and it was described as an “unfortunate accident.” The victim was returning to the Netherlands with a 32-year-old man residing in Spain after visiting a nightclub in Schüttorf. The two had an argument, and the car stopped on the hard shoulder.

The teenager exited the vehicle and was struck by a passing car, dying instantly from his injuries. The Spanish man was questioned by German police but is not suspected of any wrongdoing.

Four people in the other car sustained minor injuries.
