The Public Prosecution Service has initiated a criminal investigation against Pieter Vos, the director of the Amsterdam-based software company Rodeo, for allegedly misleading investors on a large scale. This was confirmed by the prosecution following a report by NRC.
The newspaper reported that Vos provided false information on revenue, profit, and the number of clients. He also allegedly failed to pay all salaries.
A major investor, the US billion-dollar fund PSG Equity, is demanding 67 million euros from Vos and has started civil proceedings in the Amsterdam court. The prosecution has not yet disclosed the exact charges in the criminal investigation.
The investigation aims to determine if there are grounds for prosecution. PSG filed a fraud complaint with the police last June, according to NRC.
A prosecution spokesperson stated that the decision to launch a criminal investigation was made recently. Vos informed NOS that he has not been notified by the prosecution about the investigation.
