Twelve companies in the Eindhoven region, including Philips, ASML, and NXP, will collectively invest €219 million over twelve years to improve infrastructure, affordable housing, talent development, and equal opportunities. This contribution is part of the Brainport Eindhoven initiative, as reported by Omroep Brabant.
The investment complements the earlier €2.51 billion investment by the national government, province, and 21 municipalities. ASML highlighted the challenges of insufficient skilled workers and inadequate infrastructure.
Additionally, ASML announced plans to co-fund the construction of 1,085 homes and aims to support building 25,000 homes in upcoming years. Brainport Development Director Paul van Nunen mentioned plans for 100,000 affordable homes and attracting 50,000 skilled workers and hopes more companies will join the initiative.
