Dutch Authorities Arrest Mexican Scientist Linked to North Korea

The Netherlands has arrested a Mexican scientist accused by the U.S. Department of Justice of assisting North Korean “laptop farms,” according to U.S. court documents. The United States has imposed strict sanctions on North Korea for years to cut off revenue to Kim Jong-un’s regime.

To circumvent these sanctions, North Koreans operate “laptop farms,” where laptops physically located in the U.S. are remotely controlled by North Korean IT workers, generating hundreds of millions of dollars annually for the regime.
