Dutch and Belgian police arrest leaders of online fraud ring

Dutch and Belgian police have arrested the suspected leaders of an online fraud ring that flaunted their wealth on social media. Nine people were arrested, with raids conducted in cities including Rotterdam, Den Bosch, Almere, Amersfoort, and Zaltbommel.

Authorities seized designer clothing, expensive watches, jewelry, and large sums of cash. The group, mainly in their twenties, engaged in large-scale online fraud known as the “F-game,” which involves deceiving victims into providing login details.

Social media platforms, often influenced by rappers, promote this fraudulent lifestyle among youths. The suspects, who enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle in places like Marbella, orchestrated phishing operations and ran call centers from luxury apartments in the Netherlands and Spain to defraud victims.

The police are launching a campaign to deter young people from joining such fraudulent activities, highlighting the severe consequences for victims who rarely recover their money. The arrested group included two “panel builders,” who provided software for the fraud.

The investigation aims to dismantle part of the “F-game” network.
