Los Angeles has been severely affected by destructive wildfires for several days. The fires have led to significant consequences for local residents, with many forced to evacuate their homes and at least ten fatalities reported.
Five of the victims have been identified. Victor Shaw, a resident of Altadena since 1965, was found dead in his yard while trying to save his home.
His sister, Shari Shaw, expressed her grief to ABC News. In the same area, 83-year-old Rodney Nickerson was found by family members after refusing to leave his home.
His daughter, Kimiko, shared memories with CBS. Other tragic losses include Erliene Kelley, who died in her home, and Anthony Mitchel with his bedridden son, Justin, who both perished in the flames.
Local police continue to search for bodies with search dogs, emphasizing patience as victim identification may take weeks.
