Dermot Kennedy’s “Better Days” Enters Top 2000 at Sixth

“Better Days” by Dermot Kennedy has entered the Top 2000 chart at the sixth position. This ranking is largely influenced by the passing of Eva Hermans-Kroot, who shared her experiences with terminal lung cancer on her Instagram page, Longeneeslijk, which had over 500,000 followers.

Many people added the song to their voting lists as a tribute, as it was her favorite. Hermans-Kroot was also known for her appearance on the TV program “Over mijn lijk” and her interviews on Qmusic with Mattie and Marieke.

She passed away in late November. Today at 4 PM, the voting for the Top 2000 closed, and the top 10 was subsequently announced.

Familiar names include Boudewijn de Groot with “Avond” (8), Led Zeppelin with “Stairway to Heaven” (7), and Billy Joel with “Piano Man” (5). Danny Vera returns with “Roller Coaster” (4).

As almost every year, the list is topped by Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” while Coldplay’s “Fix You” has climbed to second place (from last year’s fifth), ahead of “Hotel California” by the Eagles. The full list will be revealed next Friday during Annemieke Schollaardt’s show Annemiekes A-lunch on NPO Radio 2.
