Death toll rises to 66 in Turkey ski resort fire

The death toll from a hotel fire at a ski resort in Turkey has increased to 66, according to authorities. At least 51 people have been injured.

The incident occurred at a hotel in Kartalkaya, located in the northwest of Turkey. The partially wooden building housed a total of 237 guests.

The fire started at 3:30 AM local time on the fourth floor of the Grand Kartal hotel in the ski resort. Nighttime footage shows a significant portion of the hotel engulfed in flames, including the roof and upper floors.

Firefighters have been working to extinguish the blaze since last night. According to the governor, the fire is now largely under control.

Unharmed guests have been relocated to nearby hotels.
