The Public Prosecution Service suspects that the death of a 4-year-old girl in Rotterdam last week was a result of a crime. The child passed away last Saturday in a house on Blokfluit, in the Zevenkamp district.
A 43-year-old man, identified as the girl’s father, was arrested for potential involvement in her death. He was released yesterday as the examining magistrate found no compelling reasons for his continued detention.
However, he remains a suspect in the case, according to the police. Emergency services were alerted around 11:00 AM on Saturday, reports regional broadcaster Rijnmond.
The child was resuscitated, but efforts were in vain. The exact cause of death is still under investigation.
