De Volksbank plans to close nearly half of its SNS Bank and RegioBank branches, reducing the number from over 600 to between 320 and 360. This follows a previously announced reorganization that will result in the loss of 700 to 750 jobs.
The parent company, which owns SNS Bank, ASN Bank, BLG Wonen, and RegioBank, intends to merge these brands into a single entity, with the new name to be revealed before Christmas this year. Customers will be served at the remaining branches.
ASN Bank currently has no branches. Additionally, De Volksbank aims to expand its franchise model.
Currently, it operates 46 SNS branches directly, which may either convert to franchises or close. Only three branches will remain under direct operation by De Volksbank.
