Recently, there was hope that Amsterdam-based startup Cargoroo might avoid bankruptcy through a takeover. However, the potential deal fell through at the last moment, with the interested party finding the situation too risky.
As a result, Cargoroo could not meet its financial obligations, and the Amsterdam court declared the company bankrupt today, according to director Jaron Borensztajn. Cargoroo, which has offered electric cargo bikes for rent since 2018, had already begun removing its bikes from cities like Utrecht and Eindhoven.
Borensztajn expressed regret for the employees and users who relied on their service.
