Carbon monoxide leads to evacuation in Rotterdam

This morning, ten apartments in Rotterdam were evacuated following the detection of high levels of carbon monoxide. Four individuals, including a five-year-old child, fell ill.

The incident occurred in an apartment building in Rotterdam-Zuid. After a report of someone feeling unwell, an ambulance was dispatched.

“Subsequent tests in the building revealed high concentrations of carbon monoxide,” stated a safety region spokesperson. Several nearby apartments were evacuated, and the four affected individuals were hospitalized.

Their current condition is unknown. A fire department spokesperson told local broadcaster Rijnmond that emergency services responded promptly.
