Brazilian President Lula da Silva has been discharged from the hospital following surgery earlier this week to address a brain hemorrhage. During a press conference with his doctors, the 79-year-old president stated that he is feeling well.
Lula expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I am 79 years old, with the energy of a 30-year-old and the enthusiasm of a 20-year-old to build this country.” The medical team advised that the president should rest at home in São Paulo in the coming days but is allowed to walk and attend meetings. However, Lula should avoid long international travel for now.
He can visit the government center in Brasília if medical evaluations indicate his recovery is progressing well. The brain hemorrhage was reportedly a direct result of a fall in October.
He experienced severe headaches during a meeting in Brasília on Monday night, leading to the diagnosis.
