Body of missing man found in Amersfoort woodland

The body of Ahmed Oulad Sedik, who had been missing, was discovered in the Klein Zwitserland woodland area in Amersfoort this morning by a passerby. Police investigations confirmed the identity of the 58-year-old resident of Amersfoort.

Authorities have ruled out foul play, but the cause of death remains undisclosed. Oulad Sedik had been missing since December 23 and was last seen at his home in the Dorrestein district of Amersfoort.

He was known to have dementia and an intellectual disability. The family immediately raised the alarm, prompting a search effort lasting a week and a half, which involved police support, the Veteranen Search Team, and hundreds of volunteers.
