The Belgian Ministry of Health advises everyone with respiratory infection symptoms to wear a face mask in crowded places. Multiple viruses, including the flu, are spreading rapidly in Belgium.
The alert level is currently at code orange, the second-highest level. This virus spread is increasing pressure on hospitals and general practitioners, and many people in nursing homes are falling ill.
The Ministry of Health recommends that symptomatic individuals wear masks in public transport or when in contact with healthcare workers, though it is not mandatory.
