Astún Ski Lift Reopens After Accident in Spain

The ski lift in the Astún resort in Spain, which was involved in an accident yesterday, is back in operation, according to Spanish RTVE. Two 18-year-old women sustained serious injuries in the incident, with a total of thirty people injured.

The accident occurred around noon in the Pyrenees mountains in northern Spain. The exact cause of the accident remains unclear, but it is reported that a lift cable dislodged, causing people to fall from their lift chairs.

“We know the lift’s steering came loose, but we do not know the cause,” said Astún’s commercial director in an interview.
