Last night, a van was set on fire in a residential area of Den Bosch. Although no one was injured, the vehicle sustained significant damage.
Omroep Brabant reports that the van belongs to a roofer who has previously been targeted three times, on February 21, August 24, and August 27. The police received a report of the vehicle fire at Leyhof in eastern Den Bosch at 11:50 PM.
Neighborhood security footage shows an individual, likely a man, cycling towards the van and appearing to throw something at it, resulting in a burst of flames. The cyclist then fled the scene.
Roofer conflicts in Den Bosch have escalated with over twenty explosive incidents this year, involving both vehicles and homes. The exact cause of the conflict remains unclear; however, a roofer told Omroep Brabant in October that business rivals are attempting to eliminate each other using explosives to take over work.
A confidential police report, cited by the regional broadcaster, suggests deeper issues, including fraudulent activities, poor quality work, aggressive sales tactics, violence, explosives, and money laundering. In November, two men, a father and son aged 43 and 22, were arrested in Den Bosch for possible involvement in one or more explosions.
Their current detention status is unknown.
