A firearm was found during the arrest, but it has not been confirmed if it was used in the shootings where three people were killed in the district. No motive has been disclosed.
The suspect is in full restrictions, only allowed to speak with his lawyer. In IJsselmonde, three men were shot over twelve days and subsequently succumbed to their injuries.

Yesterday morning, an 81-year-old man was shot on Bommelerwaard. After the third shooting, the police urged IJsselmonde residents to exercise extra caution, advising against going out alone, avoiding dark, isolated areas, and immediately calling 112 if spotting a suspicious person or situation.
The police also released a new photo of the suspect and offered a reward of 30,000 euros for the tip leading to the arrest. It has not been disclosed if the arrest was due to a tip.
