12-year-old detained after cross-border police chase

A 12-year-old boy from Belgium was apprehended last night in Knegsel, North Brabant, following an extensive police chase. The young driver caused damage in multiple locations, according to Omroep Brabant.

The Belgian police pursued the boy from Hasselt and eventually sought assistance from the Dutch police. Officers from the Cranendonck-Heeze-Leende police station took over the chase from the N69.

The boy was eventually detained in Knegsel and handed over to the Belgian police for further processing. The reasons for the boy being behind the wheel and the exact nature of the damage remain unclear.
