11,000 Return to Fire-Damaged Los Angeles Areas

Ten days after the devastating fires in Los Angeles, approximately 11,000 evacuated residents have been allowed back into parts of the affected neighborhoods of Pacific Palisades and Altadena, according to local authorities reported by the Los Angeles Times. At certain locations, checkpoints have been set up where only residents can pass after showing identification to prevent looting and burglaries.

Other areas of the affected neighborhoods are open to the public.
